MGB’s have been part of my life for the last 35 years.  This includes re-shelling a 1966 roadster in the early 1990’s with the support of British Motor Heritage (BMH), who as a special project, installed my original narrow transmission tunnel in a new body shell for me, because this was before BMH offered a Mk1 body shell service.

Finding a new project - a 1963 MGB

During Christmas 2012 I purchased my latest MGB, a 1963 Iris Blue Roadster in drivable condition but in need of restoration.   After initial inspection it appeared this Mk1 had not been previously restored or modified in anyway, apart from a recent external body spray.  I really could not believe how original this 1963 MGB was.  Even the sills were original, which is quite remarkable for a UK car of this era.  All the engine and drive line numbers matched adding to originality.

As purchased in January 2013 - apart from a recent external re-spray the car is more or less in original condition
